About Us
- Bill Woodard founded Coastal Craftsmen in February of 1984. The target market was the retired owners of homes and
mobile homes in the Pasco/Hernando area for roof-overs,vinyl rooms, glass rooms and lanais.
- In the later 1980’s the housing market began changing to larger homes with swimming pools included in the
construction process. The refinance market was also growing allowing the affordability for swimming pools for existing homeowners.
- Coastal opened operations in The Orlando area in 1996. The company quickly became one of the major pool enclosure
builders not only in the Tampa Bay area but also Central Florida. Three years later, the Gainesville office was opened and later moved to Ocala to service north
central Florida.
- In 2003, an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) Trust was formed for Coastal Craftsmen Aluminum. The trust purchased
26% of the shares of the company and its subsidiary, Florida Enclosure Systems.
- Presently, Coastal Craftsmen fabricates and installs specialty residential aluminum products and structures; such as pool enclosures, lanais,
railing, fencing, gutters, CAPEA and more in over 18 central Florida counties.
ESOP

On a rainy business trip to Florida recently, I got up early and put on my Gore-Tex
running outfit to go our for my morning jog. After showering, I threw my Crest Toothpaste
into a bag and hurried over to Starbucks for coffee and a pastry. I needed to catch my
Southwest Airlines flight soon, but I left my razor at home, so I rushed into the Publix
Supermarkets and picked one up. It was going to be a long day, but I felt good that all the
products and services I'd used so far had come from companies where the employees
were substantial or principal owners.
